Know exactly
where your build stands.

Horizon Metrix is a construction documentation service. We capture your job site on a fixed schedule — same stations, same angles, every visit — and deliver the thing your team actually needs: a reliable, on-time record of project progress. The drone is just the tool. Serving BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

The delivery guarantee

Monthly progress report — delivered within 5 business days of the scheduled reporting period, weather permitting. We guarantee the report date, not a flight date: that flexibility is how the record stays complete and on time, season after season.

WEATHER DELAYS: Flight operations are subject to safe weather conditions. If conditions are unsuitable due to rain, high winds, low visibility, or other safety concerns, the visit will be rescheduled to the earliest suitable date within the agreed reporting period at no additional cost.

About

Run like a site program.

Horizon Metrix exists because progress documentation kept being an afterthought — a camera roll on someone's phone, a drone shot when the weather happened to cooperate, a record full of gaps exactly where the dispute landed.

We run documentation the way you run the site: a capture spec locked before mobilization, a safety and privacy plan per program, flights on a schedule with weather contingency built in, and a review pass on every deliverable before it reaches your inbox.

Founder-led and based in Western Canada. Small enough that you talk to the pilot who flies your site; disciplined enough that week 34 matches week 2, frame for frame.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What does commercial drone work cost in Western Canada?

Market rates in BC and Alberta typically run $150–$400 per hour, or $300–$1,500+ per project depending on deliverables. Our media capture starts at $449, monitoring flights at $549, inspections at $999, and mapping at $1,499. You get a fixed written quote before we fly — no hourly surprises.

Are you certified and insured?

Yes. Every flight is conducted by a Transport Canada–certified RPAS pilot and covered by commercial liability insurance. Certification and insurance documentation is provided with every contract.

Can you fly on urban and downtown sites?

Yes. Every flight is planned around airspace class, site safety, and privacy, and we secure whatever approvals a location requires before wheels-up — that planning is included in your quote, not an extra.

What happens when weather delays a visit?

Nothing changes for you — you still get your report on time. Flight operations are subject to safe weather conditions; if a day is unsuitable, we fly the earliest suitable date within the agreed reporting period at no additional cost, and the report still lands within its delivery window. We commit to the outcome, not a calendar date for the flight.

Can drone mapping replace a legal survey?

No — legal surveys stay with a licensed land surveyor. Our mapping supports engineering and construction decisions: progress quantities, stockpile volumes, grading checks, and as-built visual records. With ground control points, accuracy supports most earthworks workflows.

Who owns the imagery and data?

You do. Full usage rights transfer on delivery, and we host your galleries for the life of the project at no extra charge. We only share or publish your project media with written permission.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Standing programs: two weeks to first flight is typical — enough time to lock the capture spec and site plan. Single flights can often go up within 48 hours, weather permitting. Complex or remote locations may need longer for approvals and mobilization.

Does a flight disrupt work on site?

No. Visits take 20–45 minutes, we coordinate timing with your site super, and nothing stops — no closures, no exclusion zones for routine capture. Most crews never notice we were there until the report shows up.

How is my project data secured and shared?

Galleries live on Canadian-hosted storage behind a per-project link that you control. We share only with contacts you authorize, retain data for 24 months (longer on request), and never use your project media publicly without written permission.

Can you start mid-project?

Yes. We fly a baseline visit that documents current state in full, then the regular cadence begins. A late start still gives you a defensible record from that day forward — and it's far better than finishing with none.
